Press Release: 19th June 2007

Hi! Yaxley 7 Team here reporting with just five days to go - we have had enormous interest in the Yaxley 7, Fun Runs and Village Fair this year. We have already doubled the number of entrants for the 7 Mile Road Race.

We would like to thank all of our Sponsors and Volunteers who enable us to put together the Yaxley Village Event of the Year.

New things to look out for include:

Whatever the weather there is something for everyone - come along and say hello! We look forward to seeing you.

Press Release 21st May 2007:

Hello! As we write this we have approximately 34 days til the event. We (the organising team) have now started the annual panic about numbers, health and safety and thinking we really need more people!!! So PLEASE contact us…..we need YOU to….

If you are interested in doing anything to support the event – even if it’s just for an hour on the day – please do contact us as we would very much like to meet you.

This year’s event is building on the excellent reputation that the team have built over the past 2 years. To mark the success we have been asked to join the 'A1 Series 2007'. Peterborough based 'Advanced Performance - The running store for everyone' supports all local races and selects between 6 and 8 to form the 'A1 Series' each year. The races vary in distance from 5K to 30K and run at different times - giving runners of all abilities the opportunity to enter either one or all of the races. More details can be found on their website www.advanceperformance.co/a1series

Public Meeting - February 21st - All Welcome

It’s the beginning of the year and the organisers of the “Yaxley 7” have already had their first meeting to start the ball rolling (or should that be runners running!).

More details can be found on their website www.advanceperformance.co.uk/a1series

A percentage of the entry fees are given to the charity selected for the ‘A1 series'. This year is the turn of the Sue Ryder Care Thorpe Hall.  So, as well as our aim being to raise as much money as we can to benefit the Yaxley community, we also contribute to a recognised charity.

The first public meeting for the Yaxley 7 will therefore be held on Wednesday 21 st February at 7.30pm at the William De Yaxley School Main Hall. The purpose of this meeting is to encourage all residents to join us in making the day a big success. The event is a village wide event and we welcome all groups to either help manage the event, or hold fundraising stalls at the event. Individuals are a vital part of the event in helping with marshalling and organisation on the day (some entails no work prior to the event if you can only help on the day!).

If you are interested in doing anything to support the event – even if it’s just for an hour on the day – please do come along to the “Public Meeting” as we would very much like to meet you.

See you then
